SDG Student Hub: University of Adelaide - Women's Rights

On August 28, 2019, the SDG Student Hub: University of Adelaide hosted the educational event “Women’s Rights as a Solution for Health, Environment and Development”, in a collaboration with Doctors for the Environment Australia and two Adelaide-based start-ups, TABOO and HRU Global. The speakers, representatives from all 3 organizations, shared the work they do, how it contributes to women’s rights globally and the direct correlation to improving women’s rights and achieving overall health, economic and environmental development.

The aim of this event was to ultimately shed light on the often unappreciated link between women’s rights and Sustainable Development, whist also promote the incredible work being done in the community. Given the background of the speakers, the main topics discussed resonated mostly with the three SDGs: Gender Equality, Climate Action and Good Health and Wellbeing.
